Neuroscience (or Neurobiology) is the scientific study of the nervous system. It is a multidisciplinary branch of biology addressing anatomy, biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology. It draws upon pharmacology, psychology and medicine.
It is in the area of psychology that neuroscience is perhaps of prime interest to the linguist and linguisticians.
It is in language acquisition and its use (> Linguistics) that the psychological meets, marries and sometimes can be at variants with the sociological. That then leads us to the fields of psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics.
